Standards of Life in the Future: Think Grim
I've commented to many of my friends over the last few years how things keep getting worse. Hard to find people that can fix a car the first time. Maintenance people can't fix anything. I buy stuff that doesn't even last the first use, let alone a year. Here's an interesting article that things are really getting worse.

http://finance.yahoo.com/columnist/article/yourlife/2808

"I've had a couple of bad experiences recently that sharpened my worry about what life will be like for retirees in the future -- I fear that a catastrophe of declining standards of life is heading our way.

I'm thinking about how bad it has gotten in terms of how customers are treated. A few days ago, I called the saleswoman at an auto dealer who sold me my last car a few years ago. I asked her to come over and show me the newest model of my car and told her if I liked it, I would buy it on the spot.

"Sorry," she said. "Too busy.""

1. Yep.
Nothing new to add except that since I don't feel like sugar coating it right now: we're fucked.

3. I agree on many fronts
we recently went round and round with a pair of glasses they kept messing up. About four month's worth. And they were rude and never admitted their mistakes. In one the bifocal was 1/2 the way up the lens. Then in the next one the bifocal was the far lense and the upper lens the close! I don't understand how they stay in business.

But I've never had a car salesperson come to my house.

5. Hey Benny, when you offshore and cut corners, PRIDE GOES WITH IT.
Keep in mind I don't disagree with you on any of your points, Mr. Stein. What I do disagree with is that your definition of "Republican" is different than mine. Besides, you're more a neocon than Republican anyway.

For you are a microcephalic fool, Benny.

So get your "Republican" (try RINO) masters to see the light and bring quality, freedom, and hope (and American jobs) back (we'll be grateful) or shove it and sod off.

Auto salesmen get paid less because the corporate masters have to drop prices on everything; they have fewer incentives to make money. "Well, I'm not really selling any, but a lot of people are looking and wasting my time," she said. "But you know I'm a qualified buyer who has bought from you before," I protested. Gee, wonder why she's playing games? Too many people can't pass that bar.

In a country of only 300 million, there is a shit-ass huge problem and the talk about children-born-out-of-wedlock is dumb. At least in America; why aren't the anti-abortion dullards pissing and moaning in China and other high-populace countries?

Store clerks won't give a fuck about your time. Not when they're compensated so little for theirs in a society that requires far more money to live in.

Yes, we should all enhance ourselves as well. But when you offshore, even the brightest and the dumbest have one thing in common: Despair. They stop caring or wishing to support those who are pissing on them. Ever wonder why "employee turnover" is a problem?

As for United, think of how the flight attendents are treated. You think that if they're being treated like dirt, they're going to treat you (or anyone) that much better? I doubt it.

As for retirees. You have a game show where people answer trivial questions just to win Ben Stein's money. You're out of league with real retirees. People who HAVE saved all their lives. Saved. And their money is stolen by vermin like ken lay or the medical industry due to a gross imbalance of the capitalistic system; the core problems being ignored because there's no profit in a cure (and that is meant to be read in multiple ways)...

I could go on forever and also point out people who disprove Benny's convictions that all people in support positions are worthless (hmmm...) Sorry Benny. What is happening is the result of societal decay. I have hope and faith it'll get better. But you are wealthy. You have something I lack: POWER. And the decay is as much stemming from offshoring as it is anything else. It cannot be denied.
