Who on DU Do You Want To See Running For Office?
Leaving aside folks like AWD who actually ARE running for office...who on DU needs to be talked into it?

or, conversely, who on DU needs to be kept away from the steering wheel at all costs?

C ya,

The Plaid Adder

1. You!
You've got a great mind, and have a wonderful grasp on the problems facing the country right now, if your writing is any indication...

7. I disagree...
...I'm having a GREAT time running.

How often do you get to stand in front of people in suits and dresses, tell them exactly how you feel about politics, and have them applaud AND donate to you to do it?

10. You've got it backwards!
I've never actually served in office, but I think it could be incredibly frustrating and depressing. The same can be said for running, but it also has its positives. Getting a chance to speak your mind and putting even just a little fear in the local chamber of commerce is a rush. I never get much publicity because the media boycott me - a good sign that they're afraid of me - but they can't keep my statements out of the Voters Pamphlet. That ALONE is a good reason for people to run. Write a killer statement and include a link to a campaign website where you can bash the media that have been blacklisting you and otherwise educate the public - it's righteous.

Although she's too young for major office, I can see it in her future. She's bright, articulate, outspoken, and perfect for our country.
