Winter Fatigue?
Is anyone else experiencing winter fatigue? You know where your tired of the days and nights being so dark and slushy? While I don't have seasonal depression its starting to effect my sleeping and eating habits. I am officially living on third shift and I don't like it. Does anyone have any advice on how I can shrug this off? *sigh* I miss the sun. Thanks in advance. Danny.

1. Nope, but got flu for the first time in decades
Felt exhusted for a couple days then hurt so bad every where I sat in hot baths and cried for 3 days. Fever/chills seem to have subsided but pointless cough is pretty tiring.

Thinking of planting some seeds tomorrow. That should perk me up now that I can walk again.

3. Keep your head up!
March offers something like 30% more daylight. Just keep telling yourself that this will soon pass. :yourock:

4. Danny, according the weather forecast, it's supposed to be near
60 by the weekend here in Northern Illinois and the spring equinox is only two weeks away.

Hang in there, it will get better. Besides, tell yourself that three months from today, June 6th, we could be complaining about a heat wave...

5. Yeah, winter fatigue is when the fucking sun stops going down at 4:00 pm
and stays out longer, and starts fucking coming up before 8:00 am, which is pure bullshit.

:grr:

Winter fatigure for me starts dec 21 when the goddamn sun starts being its obnoxious, asshole self again, after only about one month of decent fucking weather and sufficient dark time.

Fuck, now I'm depressed.

6. Just keep looking ahead
The days really are getting noticeably longer now. Not too long ago, it was dark by 5:00...now we've got enough daylight to see until 6:30. The trees are thinking about budding. I saw a crocus the other day. It's coming, it really is.

7. Get some full-spectrum light bulbs
and keep them on. They are closer to real sunlight than regular bulbs.

8. I'm actually mourning the end of the very same thing
Earlier tonight I was sitting on the couch, hearing the wind outside and feeling a little draft come off the window, and I got sad as I realized that, a month from now, it would be bright out at this very time. I like the winter more than most, I guess :)

9. This happens to me -- I get into a weird off-season schedule or
something in the winter.

Mornings are just so much better when it's warm out. There is nothing to do (especially as a stay-at-home mom who doesn't have to leave the house for work) in the morning in the winter--too damn cold to take my daughter for a walk to the park and nooooo motivation to bother getting up early. Hence I become an insomniac night-owl.

Blech on winter.
