he he he...
I was chatting with a friend today regarding The Oscars and brought up the subject someone had posted here about conservatives and 'the arts'. The poster had alluded to the fact that they couldn't think of a single conservative in the arts and thought that it was perhaps due to the fact that one has to have an open mind to new thoughts and conceptions.
My friend thought about that for a moment and seriously said:
"Well, there IS Charlton Heston. Perhaps he started out as a
Liberal and then became more conservative as he lost his mind".

To which I............ !

After I finished I told her that I thought she had definitely hit the nail on the head!

1. Now that you mention it... I think CHUCK Heston marched with MLK
at some point.

But he was always a pretty lousy actor. IMNSHO

3. He's by no means the worst. And did things other actors would not.
And a lot of it is name recognition, but at least he did Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green.

In the late 1960s, he was seen very highly - playing roles of heroes. Along comes PotA and he plays a man who is constantly humiliated and one hell of a downbeat ending. And then there's Soylent Green...

I've yet to see The Omega Man.

But, especially in that day and age, he is commendable for taking such risks, particularly with his stature of the time.
