That is Tiggy, and he is indeed very smart.

He trained me to open doors for him, to open the blinds so he can take a sun bath, to pick the right cat food, and most importantly, he taught me when it's time to put aside books and give him a chin rub instead.

PS: The book is "The Theory of Formal Languages".

He's training me to put aside the books from time to time, and just enjoy his company.

Sometimes I'm a little slow to take the hint, so he plops himself on my books to make his point.
