29. just because you have not heard them does not mean that you
can't post in them...must we be intellectual at all times? if nothing else you could say something...once you read it, you should be able to form an opinion of the lyrics. They stand on their own without the melody...doncha think?

just speaking out to the population in general...as for you specifically...you do say that you have never heard of them but, you could comment on something in the lyrics that you identify with...rather you agree or disagree with what is being said...know what I mean?

38. That is what my parents always said... about potential... the thing
is, I am a slacker and hedonist, and like being that way... let's hear it for the socialist state; I just want someone to tell me what to do at work, pay me, and let me retire early so I can have fun ... not the way it works here, unfortuneatly...:(

43. Yeah, but I am thinking of taking a pay cut and getting a less
stress full job... there is one that I interned at 5 years ago that was pretty close to perfect...it was a job in my county fixing hardware problems. Get in at 7:00 (the worst part x( ), hang around for an hour getting the necessary paperwork and shooting the breeze with co-workers, get into the utility truck and meander to schools fixing hardware, meet the guys for lunch somewhere for an hour to two hours (I shit you not), meander back to the other two or three stops, and head in to home base. Get there about 2:00, shoot the breeze for an hour or so, and head home... ah, it was as close to happy as I have been on a job... I am going to try to get the next opening they have ...

44. I see how that could be appealing on a basic level but,
there are things you can do to destress and still remain a teacher...just remember that teachers are students too...I am not sure that going backwards will enable you to go forward in your journey...

46. You do not grasp the EXTENT to which I am not spiritual;
nothing on that side at all. VERY low down on Maslows(sp?) needs hierarchy ... in addition, I have NO work ethic AT ALL, if I could, I would quit work THIS INSTANT, and never look back... I really like to relax and have fun ... my current job is full of responsibility (yuck!), paperwork, stress, and lots of unappreciative people (starting with the kids, and including parents most definitely, and the media, and the politicians and, and, and... ah who needs the aggravation?) I am convinced that it is slowly destroying my health, and it is frustrating because I KNOW I could be SO happy if I did not have to work. In the perfect socialist world in my head, by the time people are my age and have worked steadily, they should have already put in their dues so they can retire and enjoy life.

47. the very fact that you rank low on that heirarachy tells me that
due to the paradoxical nature of life ...that you are VERY spiritual...you are just approaching it from the back door and that is ok...

33. I thought this was going to be about that Paul Simon song--
Loves Me Like a Rock

When I was a little boy, (when I was just a boy)
And the devil would call my name (when I was just a boy)
I’d say now who do,
Who do you think you’re fooling? (when I was just a boy)
I’m a consecrated boy (when I was just a boy)
I’m a singer in a sunday choir
Oh , my mama loves, she loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me
She love me, love me, love me, love me

When I was grown to be a man (grown to be a man)
And the devil would call my name (grown to be a man)
I’d say now who do,
Who do you think you’re fooling? (grown to be a man)
I’m a consummated man (grown to be a man)
I can snatch a little purity
My mama loves me, she loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me
She love me, love me, love me, love me
And if I was president (was the president)
The minute congress call my name (was the president)
I’d say who do,
Who do you think you’re fooling? (who do you think you’re fooling)

I’ve got the presidential seal (was the president)
I’m up on the presidential podium
My mama loves me
She loves me
She get down on her knees and hug me
Like she loves me like a rock
She rocks me like the rock of ages
And loves me

Fade out:
She love me, love me, love me, love me
(loves me like a rock)

(It's my favorite :).)

36. good song...and I thought about this one
Words and music by bob seger

Stood there boldly
Sweatin’ in the sun
Felt like a million
Felt like number one
The height of summer
I’d never felt that strong
Like a rock

I was eighteen
Didn’t have a care
Working for peanuts
Not a dime to spare
But I was lean and
Solid everywhere
Like a rock

My hands were steady
My eyes were clear and bright
My walk had purpose
My steps were quick and light
And I held firmly
To what I felt was right
Like a rock

Like a rock, I was strong as I could be
Like a rock, nothin’ ever got to me
Like a rock, I was something to see
Like a rock

And I stood arrow straight
Unencumbered by the weight
Of all these hustlers and their schemes
I stood proud, I stood tall
High above it all
I still believed in my dreams

Twenty years now
Where’d they go?
Twenty years
I don’t know
Sit and I wonder sometimes
Where they’ve gone

And sometimes late at night
When I’m bathed in the firelight
The moon comes callin’ a ghostly white
And I recall
Recall

Like a rock. standin’ arrow straight
Like a rock, chargin’ from the gate
Like a rock, carryin’ the weight
Like a rock

Lihe a rock, the sun upon my skin
Like a rock, hard against the wind
Like a rock, I see myself again
Like a rock
