I have the prerelease version of the album. Yep, i've been in contact with Satch that long that i get pre-release opportunities. I don't get them free, of course. I ain't in that close contact. But, i get them early. The new stuff is really influenced by psychedelia, even though it still has the jazz and fusion influences we're used to.

Satch Boogie is one of the few Satch tunes i know note for note. It's not my style to learn things to that level of detail, normally. But, that one i did because i just felt there was so much to learn in terms of phrasing and detail. Love that tune.

That's not even HIS best solo, Lynne! The melody within the solo on Stairway is a better one, for instance. And, it builds nicely throughout so it travels through changes. And, there are plenty of others better than WLL! You need to get a guitar and learn some of them! LOL! You'll see!

18. I Always Favor That One. . .

. . .because of the flow. The feeling, the pace, and tone all intensify from start to finish, while still maintaining a sense of melody that isn't the same as the song but fits so well.

I always like those "mini-opus" type solos.

listen to them trade off leads in "bloodstone" or "the rage"....awsome......i was just listening to tool's "lateralus" a moment ago...adam jones is not to shabby on the solos either...they fit well with the mood of the songs tool does.

23. love bites has a cool solo......

simple but fitting...thats what makes them great...their timing and feel. they are subtle when they need to be....i have to admit though, "turbo" was the last studio album i bought from them....i own "metalworks" and "unleashed in the east" currently. i must have seen priest 10 or 11 times in the 80's...they are at their best when live....

you left out "fever" and "riding on the wind"....."rapid fire" is fun to play on bass too ;-p
