the site is a Alliance (our version of Freeper) breeding ground with plenty of white supremacists. It's a bit of an echo chamber so any influence of new blood sets them off again. I'm hoping with inactivity the site will quietly go away.

Sheesh, what is it with conservatives' being stuck permanently in the '50s? Hell, Canada hasn't been the "Dominion of Canada" since we repatriated the Constitution, or maybe even earlier than that, I don't know; memory fails me.

Actually, Canada has its own fair share of rednecks and wingnuts, and most of them are from the Prairies -- when times are bad, they're the biggest bunch of Socialists ever. When times are good, they're the biggest bunch of National Socialists ever. Personally, if Alberta ever tries to get up a seccessionist movement, they can go with my blessing, and I was born there!

My husband and I ventured out there in 1992, just before our election and about the same time as the Quebec vote. I wore my jean jacket with all my anti-Bush buttons and got nothing but smiles and good conversations -- wore it in the states too -- nada, no one said anything! Even with the bad press, I will still visit Alberta again -- what beautiful country.
