Why are all the posting times based on G.M.T.? I assume all
the founders (admins) and software and actual physical locations are here in the U.S. So why English time?

another question is how does "check spelling" work since I type on my computer and the main DU place then can check it?

3. You need to change your time zone settings.
Here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=user

Then here:http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=user&saz=change_preference

And change the setting from GMT to whatever your local time is.
