art.com or barewalls.com?
These are Websites where you can pick out a poster/print from among thousands of choices and then choose the framing (material, color, style, width, etc.) and matting (up to three mats even).
The sites are really impressive in that you can actually see the print with the frame and matting (as far as computer graphics allow) that you've chosen on screen, and make adjustments.
The whole print/framework job usually costs between 100 and 200 dollars, depending on your choices, of course.
I need to decorate some walls, and I'm considering trying this out.
Does anyone have experience with these online frame shops, good or bad? Is the quality of frame workmanshiip good or OK or bad? Is the quality of the prints (reproductions) good or dodgy? Are there some sites to steer clear of? How does the workmanship compare with local frame shops (brick and mortar)?
Any input would be appreciated.
