It doesn't seem to matter what the movie is; "Saved," "American Beauty," "Pleasantville," et.al. Their responses are so canned and predictable. Think of a movie that might even have the SLIGHTEST hint, of a progressive theme, and like clockwork they appear. Do they not have the capability of saying, "it's only a movie." Here is a typical thread from "The Constant Gardener."

For their IMDB reviews, they get paid for each cogent thought, which explains why the best of them earns about 15 cents annually.

My guess is that some of them get their orders from "Fundie Control" and post for the Lord. It's fairly obvious that some posters haven't even watched the film or TV show under discussion. They just post generic anti-sex, anti-swearing, anti-Semitic and anti-progressive tripe. I use to like to fight them in the Deadwood forum.

22. I remember one thread - I think it was for "Downfall" - which basically

went -- "Did we pick the wrong side in WW2? I mean we would have had a much more determined army to take on the communists and bring freedom to the world. We also wouldn't be in the mess we're in today because Germany would have managed to kill most of the Jews (I'm not saying Jews are bad btw) so we wouldn't be fighting Israel's wars in the Middle East. I suspect some of them are just ordinary posters who want to have a soapbox and/or convert other IMDB posters to their point of view (fat chance of that, huh?). Check out the Vera Drake board for some samples.

The other posters who really annoy me are the rain-on-the-parade types who just have to begin a thread just by saying, "This movie sucked!" or "This actor is an idiot!" Then there's the maniac who began a gushing thread about Jessica Alba on a totally unrelated board. Somehow that bothers me the most of all. :shrug:

12. I'm curious what "evil corporations" vs. "the government" has to do

with holocaust victims (who were largely slaves to IG Farben, Krupp and other corporations who formed a partnership with the Nazi regime).

I guess the twit doesn't realize that oftentimes "evil corporations" and "the government" are one and the same.

BTW, that may be the quickest display of Godwin's Law going into effect in the history of internet message boards :P

I've had many a last word with some of those idiots. I schooled some of them good on the "DC 9/11" page. And some idiot who claimed to be a moderate started a thread titled "The Liberals vs. The Conservativies:Civil War 2005" on the message board for the same movie. I actually let him have the last word because his posts were just too ridiculous to keep responding to.
