A portrait of...fleabert
Fleabert asked me to draw her a long time ago, and I finally got around to it. First of all I was very privileged simply to have a picture of her not pulling a silly face, or asleep, or kissing a strange-looking vegetable... ;)

As you can see she is really beautiful. Here is my attempt:

I hope you like it, fleabert! :loveya:

It's A4 sized, if that means anything to you continentals. About 30cm x 20cm. :)

9. LOL, yes, it does mean a lot.
A4 is quite standard here. ;)

That's great, since I can only imagine how much talent it needs to go from post-it size to bigger size and even improving the quality. It's much easier to do small sizes than big ones. Hat's off. That's really great!

10. There's a funny thing
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 05:15 PM by billyskank
I find it easier to draw pictures on a larger piece of paper. Post-it notes are too constricted, and trying to cram the detail in is a challenge. But I do need a good picture to do a large drawing from.

I imagine if I were to go full-sized that would be a different story altogether. But A4 is the largest thing I can get in my scanner, so that's the size for me... ;)

15. That's not a funny but a good thing, actually.
My drawing days have long passed, but I always found it easier to be small and just couldn't do anything large.

I think you captured the kindness that shines out of her eyes.

Eyes can be so expressive and yet that can be the most difficult thing to show.

I'm sure she'll be pleased :)

I think I must have been doing this in a previous life. :)

I am using regular A4 printer paper. That is the largest size I can fit in my scanner, anyway. I use two pencils: one standard hardness (HB) pencil for the initial sketch and for any subsequent outlining, and one softer 4B pencil for the shading.

I am so happy to see you!
