Bought myself a Xmas gift - the Looney Tunes DVD first set!
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AYJXS/002-1687680-6456869

Has many of my most favorite Looney Tunes Cartoons: Duck Amok, Rabbit of Seville, Duck Dodgers, Wabbit Seasoning, The Scarlet Pumpernickel, Wearing of the Grin, Deduce, You Say, and the ultra-violent Early to Bet (No! Not that! Not "The Thinker!").

Friend of mine has it and loves it! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!! I have about two days' worth of cartoons on video tape, but tape sucks. It's so 20th century. Plus, the tapes have been 1500 miles away for 11 years, and I haven't been able to watch them anyway, and I totaly miss my Looney Tunes! DVD rocks!! (I also miss my Beanie and Cecil and Tex Avery collections and Ralph Bakshi Mighty Mouse collection, but they'll come on DVD eventually, too)

God, I am so excited! I can hardly stand the waiting.

1. I wish they'd give Droopy Dog the same treatment!
I love Droopy dog! 21 cartoons on 3 VHS tapes isn't enough, man!

"Are you happy, people?" Gotta use that in an answerphone greeting, along with "Well it's about time somebody rang my chimes! Unfortunately I'm not here! But don't bet your bippy, I'll be back! You know what to do, you know you want to too!"

2. I've been eyeing that for awhile
ever since they announced it, before the release. I have most of the cartoons on a laserdisc set, but once my laserdisc player dies, no more What's Opera, Doc...no more Hillbilly Hare...no more One Froggy Evening!

3. Digitize to DVD
I'm starting to capture my LD collection and burn DVD+R discs with it. Great fun to do... and I can enhance the video and audio of movies that have a lacklustre quality to them.

4. Beany and Cecil are on DVD!
I wandered into a Suncoast last weekend and saw it on display-almost bought it! I love Bob Clampett. I should go back and pick one up.
Looney Tunes were great. The staff got paid jack but had almost complete freedom to amuse themselves "as long as it was funny". There's the key to great comedy. Plus they had amazing talent. Not just the directors and animators, but Carl Stalling who composed the music and the unforgettable Mel Blanc.

5. Yep, an incredible team
and they put together some of the funniest, most incredible, and most amazing and beautiful animation.

Chuck Jones' book is a must-have for anyone interested in the looney tunes.

6. Nice....I love Looney Tunes.
I remember them being the best thing ever when I was younger. I watched them well into my teenage years, I believe.

Daffy's the best. The really crazy Daffy that bounces off the walls and stuff. "Whoohoo! WHOOHOO! WHooHOO! WhoohoO! WHOOhoo!" :)
