LOL! My printer often scares me because it's in another room.
and it takes it about a minute after I send a file to be printed before it starts printing, so as I sit at the computer in the kitchen... suddenly I hear weird noise from the back of the apartment and am startled for a moment until I realize, "Oh, that's right - I'm printing".

It's so frickin' wonderful to be able to print over the network.

I have the nice desktop in the office, but yet, for some reason, I find myself mostly using the laptop on the kitchen counter - I think because it's nearer the coffee, the counter is way bigger than the desk, and it's in a much bigger room, and also where the radio, TV, etc. are.
