E-crazy
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 08:16 PM by GirlinContempt
People who feel the need to tack 'e' on everything internet related make me fucking insane.
No, you don't provide 'e'-solutions for 'e'-business, you provide business solutions, you pretentious ass.
I was grinding my teeth through that whole meeting.
e-portfolio? e-cart? GAH

32. At one point, the word "direct" was a hot internet term. So you'd see
pricewaterhousedirect.com, artistsdirect.com, sciencedirect.com... For a while the same was true for terms like "crawler" (for seach engines). There were others. "I" was used often, also.

30. the opposite is e-nnoying also-"brick and mortar"
"we're a "brick-and-mortar" business, as opposed to e-business".

gimme a break. i worked for a construction company that had an internet business venture. they seperated the internet sales and construction ventures with this phrase. as if we were somehow doing construction projects on the internet. the funny part was that the internet group actually sold some bricks and mortar.

At the start of the dot-com bonanza, I got really annoyed that all these companies were calling themselves "foobar-dot-com." I wanted to wrestle them to the ground and yell at them: "you're not called foobar-dot-com you fucking fashion victims that's your web address! You should just be called foobar!!!"

However, that's just me, and the world paid no attention. :)

36. e-jokes.
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, three Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"
