1. No, but don't ever tell a cabbie in Okinawa to hurry.
If they get in wreck because you told them to hurry - it's your fault. You pay the bill. (that's what I was told, but technically I never confirmed this)

I did that once......the guy came to a red light, swerved over a bump into an adjacent parking lot, went across the perpendicular road through traffic (almost getting hit) into the other parking lot, and over onto the original road on the other side of the light into traffic and continued on. This all went down in like 5 seconds and he never braked.

After that, I told him to slow down....I wasn't in a hurry no more.

2. There was a group of 8 of us going to a steak house
in St. Louis. We were in the second cab, and told the driver 'FOLLOW THAT CAB!!!'

It was a very cliche moment.

3. I was a cabbie, and somebody told me that
Turned out it was a drunk ex-husband, chasing his ex-wife.

By the time we arrived at our destination (some other guy's house), I'd talked him into just going back home.

I figured it was the only way I was going to get paid on that one...

4. sort of, it was more "follow that rental car type of thing"
i still think they found every hole in road between veracruz and the airport, and it was a VW beetle type cab too, but you can't blame the cabbie if he's following the tour leader who is trying to return a rental car and supposedly knows a shortcut

whew

did that even make sense?
