and yeah, I'd have to agree with you. I think I might have chuckled once or twice, but I have no idea at which joke--or maybe I didn't laugh at all. I pretty much click away and kill a few more minutes when his show is on.

My brother had borrowed it from a coworker.

16. I don't like him either, and I've pontificated on this here in the past.

He tries so hard to be "politically incorrect" and "controversial" (and I purposely used those words in quotes because his act is so contrived), but just ends up straining to be even a little bit funny. Seeing how many times he can say the word "beaner" in a half-hour show just isn't funny to me. It's like he wants to be the Latino Dave Chappelle, as someone upthread stated, and it ain't working.

I did get bored with Mind Of Mencia, and found it frequently offensive (and not in the good, mind-expanding, prejudice-challenging way). I thought, though, that it was also quite brilliant in places.

Poor man's Chappelle's Show, I thought. Perhaps it's gone downhill since I watched it.

Like most cutting edge comedy. I will agree that Carlos pushes the envelope more than most. There are times that he makes me uncomfortable but overall I think he is funny.

Like South Park and Chappell, Mencia refuses to play it safe and some people don't like that.

One thing I have noticed is that Mencia's comedy doesn't hold up as well over time. I can watch a South Park or Chappell episode rerun and still get a good laugh but Mencia episodes that I laughed at the first time around tend to bore me in reruns. Maybe it's just the shock factor.
