2. I heard a good one by Physoc; (a University Physics Society)
Harry Potter And The Law Of Gravity! With a picture of little Harry and his broom falling out of the sky.... it was cool.

Sorry if you're actually a fan, but I've held back on all the bad ones...

Actually, how about: Harry Potter And The Unnecessary Sequel?

3. JK? That you?
:P

Seven fast facts about book seven.

* The last chapter was written back in 1999; it dealt with "what happens to the survivors afterward"; the last word is scar; this chapter will still be tweaked
* The book will contain a lot of the back story of the Potters
* Aunt Petunia has never performed magic, and never will, but there's more to her than meets the eye; the letter left with Harry on the doorstep was not the first one Dumbledore sent Petunia
* The Sorting Hat is not a horcrux, but there's more to it than what we've read in the first books
* "Ravenclaw will have their day"
* No book character has returned from the future
* There is significance to the fact that Harry has his mother's eyes
* Speculation: book 7 will be released on 07/07/07
* There is a frighteningly large universe of Harry Potter fan sites which, among other things, collect and analyze interviews with JK Rowling

31. Ha! Wheel of Time is awesome!
I thought it was funny when I saw the Harry Potter fan sites starting to look like the Wheel of Time plot sifters...especially for something that started out as (mainly) a kids book.

I also think the Wheel of Time is awesome, despite the lack of plot movement in the last 4 books. (Not counting the last one, Knife of Dreams was great)

19. Okay, I think that Snape...
was secretly, desperately in love with Lily Evans and he knows his actions helped bring about her death (James he couldn't give a shit about). I think that is one (of a few) of the reasons he cannot tolerate Harry -- looking in "Lily's eyes" every day is a reminder of his treachery.

I can't wait for the final book -- so much to find out!

21. Maybe Aunt Petunia was invited to Hogwarts and didn't go.
It makes sense. Maybe she refused to go, because she was so repulsed by magic. If Lily Potter was younger, then seeing her younger sister go off to do magic would be horrifying.

6. Here's what has to happen in book 7:
The cup, the snake, the locket, and something of Ravenclaw's or Gryffindor's have to be destroyed.

Harry has to meet and deal with Snape, Malfoy Jr, Malfoy Sr, Wormtail, Bellatrix, Grayback, and Voldemort at the very least.

Harry has to visit his parents' home town. Harry has to go to the wedding of Fleur and Bill.

The giants have to come into it somewhere, as do the dementors and the werewolves.

We've got to learn more about RAB and Aunt Petunia, among others.

We've got to learn more about Dumbledore, 'cause if the series ends without finding out why he trusted Snape, I'm going to be very angry.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

8. I'm convinced Dumbledore isn't really dead
that his soul is stored in some magic artifact, to be re-activated later. He and Snape conspired on his death, to get Snape closer to Valdemort.

11. no, he's dead all right
one more person who died to clear the path for Harry to take down Voldemort, which is obviously his destiny. The only way to part your soul, we are told, is with a horcrux, and I doubt Dumbledore did that. But Harry was too dependant on him, and his protection, he needs to be out of the way for book 7.

39. Agreed. Dumbledore is dead and Snape is a rat bastard.
You must commit a murder to create a horcrux, which Dumbledore would never do. The killing curse doesn't work unless there's hatred in your heart, so Snape has gone over to the dark side.

41. I'm telling you, Snape is going to be redeemed
I'm not sure Dumbledor is truly dead. We will see. But one of Harry's faults has never been to trust Dumbledore re: Snape. Either the moral here is to trust your instincts or to trust those who have proven themselves to your friends. I am going with the later.

18. oh I wish that were true
the betrayal just didn't seem right to me, there wasn't enough to justify it. It still bothers me. ( I need to get a life, right?) ;)

Part of it is the choice that Snape had to make to protect Malfoy, but I still think Dumbledore wouldn't have been so gullible.

25. Here's my take
Snape is not a good fellow, and did betray Dumbledore - but he is not really Voldemort's slave. I think Snape does what is best for him at the time (he couldn't back out of his pact with Malfoy,) and he will help Harry defeat Voldemort somehow.

22. I agree, only because....
....she has spent SOOO much time convincing us that
Snape is evil, it just MUST be a set-up for a surprise twist.

And Dumbledore trusted him, despite all the "evidence",
so Dumbledore has to know something we don't.
He's just NOT that stupid!

That's really all I have to go on.

Dumbledore would not have trusted Snape without a reason. Unless there is something we don't know. Which could certainly be the case, since she writes volumes of back story....

28. well, I think that Dumbledore
was dying anyway (combination, perhaps, of the curse on his arm and the poison from the horcrux trap) and knew it, so he allowed himself to be killed in a way that would help Harry. He'd been giving too much information to Harry about things he didn't need to know yet, it was the behaviour of someone who knew he was going to die soon.

Snape is a Slytherin, remember, he's looking out for Number One.

The more I talk with my wife about this, the more I'm convinced she's right. Snape is playing his own game, and his act of killing Dumbledore could have been a mercy killing.

16. I think Snape will allow Harry to finish Voldemort
Harry's biggest fault has been his inability to look at the man his father hated through his own eyes. He always sees Snape as his dad's nemisis. Harry needs to learn not to judge without a reason. I think Snape will help Harry in the end, but Snape probably knows that only Harry can kill Voldemort.

17. What about Malfoy Jr?
I have this feeling that Hagrid will take out Malfoy Sr. (though something in my mind tells me Hagrid will not survive). Malfoy Jr. and dumbledore's exchange in HBP still gets to me. Dumbledore could not have been that wrong about him. I wonder if Draco will help Harry in the end or if evil will overtake him.

34. JK said it was a very good guess
I'm assuming it's Regulus and the locket that no-one could open in the chapter where they're cleaning the House of Black is the horcrux, and it's currently either in the posession of Kreacher or Mundungus Fletcher.

But that's just a guess. ;)

Why the mysterious death then. I mean no body, and those voices behind the curtain. I always thought Harry would be able to return to that room and speak to Sirius through the curtain, even if he didn't see him.

His parents helped him in Book 4.

12. Harry Potter and the Militant Lesbian Feminist
One day, Harry takes a break from the goings on at Hogwarts, he turns on the television. The 700 Club is on and after watching Pat Robertson, he realizes he's been duped.

He starts to investigate Hogwarts and finds that it's actually run by a group of militant lesbian feminists, who have divorced their husbands, killed their children and are practicing witchcraft. Harry and his friends join forces to stop them, close Hogwarts and create a home for converting homosexuals into moral christians.

I dunno, just an idea.
And Ron and Hermione.

And more involvement from the Aurors. What always stuns me is how the wizard heirarchy are so blind to evil and their own bureaucracy. Dumbledore seemed to be the only character who actually had any prescience and insight.

24. Snape will reveal himself to be the ambiguous guardian . . .
Harry will drop Voldemort and accidentally kill Peagreen Malfoy in the process.

Hagrid will get his clock punched. Possibly McGonagle.

Ron + Hermione will finally realize their love for each other, patterned after the sort of relationship Ron's mother and father have.

Harry will get an unexpected save from Ginny, who he eventually loves and marries and has the prodigal son & daughter with.

Dumbledore isn't dead.
