A most remarkable discovery I made (pic)
About 4 years ago I was with my sister at the downtown farmer's market. There was a young man there doing sketch portraits for what I know was minimal cash- I had a few bucks extra, so let him draw me. Imagine my surprise when I saw the finished drawing- he had done an almost perfect profile of my (deceased since 1988) brother. It's a bit disquieting to see someone else reflected in your own face, as seen through a stranger's eyes.

I did a scan of it and promptly forgot I even had it. Then just this weekend I was going through some old backup cds I'd found in a box, and I rediscovered the scanned portrait. I was freaked out all over again.

I'm posting the portrait here not for myself, but for my brother. He passed away on my birthday in 1988. He was forty years old.

1. Not knowing what
he or you look like it's hard to 'see' a likeness but I trust that you see it and that's what is so important. I'm glad you found it again and can enjoy the memories and feelings that it gives you. I'm sorry that your brother passed away, and on your birthday too, .. makes it all that much harder I'd think. Thank you for sharing this with me (us). Perhaps it's something you could print and have framed if you haven't done so already. Again, my condolences on your loss, may the memories of your brother warm the darkest nights and bring sunshine to your life.
