Apparently this is the only damn way to get someone to look at a post in here. This was originally titled, "Name some very popular movies that you hate and why."

Just got to thinking about movies I hate that are somehow popular...

Gone With the Wind.

After 2 minutes of Scarlett O'Hara, I was begging for some blue-coated soldiers to come in and shoot that spoiled, vain, bratty, manipulative little shit, and I didn't care if they had to burn the whole damn city of Atlanta down to get to her, and I say that as a native Georgian. Watching Mammy made me squirm where I sat because it made me so uncomfortable. Rhett Butler is an asshole, and every other man in the movie is a milksop. Melanie must have been relieved to die. Horrible, horrible movie. If I ever had a daughter who emulated Scarlett, I'd disown her. I did have an idea for a sequel, though: Gone with Her Looks, a movie about a spoiled, vain, bratty, manipulative little shit named Scarlett who doesn't realize when her looks are gone and dies at age 80 completely alone and penniless because no one can stand her personality. I'd carve my eyes out with a spoon and pop my eardrums with Q-tips before I'd sit through this movie again.

The Wizard of Oz.

I hate Dorothy. And if I'd had my way, I would have made a skillet out of the Tin Man, set the skillet over a blazing Scarecrow, and had a few Cowardly Lion fillets. Did I mention I hate Dorothy? Not more than I hate the stereotypes: Pretty Witch = Good Witch, Ugly Witch = Bad Witch. And the damn song about the yellow brick road is the most annoying song in the history of mankind. The only character that I came close to liking was Toto, and that's because they couldn't make the dog say any stupid lines. The flying monkeys would have had to come out of my butt before I'd like this movie. And yeah, I still hate Dorothy.
