Work is okay, kinda sorta (as my daughter used to say). The evil woman at work is tamed for now, but I'm working on going back to my former employer. Hopefully that will work out, as they really want me to come back.

It's like this girl Megan who was the Draco Malfoy to my Harry Potter growing up.

I was in the same school as her from 2nd to 5th grade, then I had girl scouts with her, then she was at a different school with me in 8th grade, and she was a total bitch to me for 6 years. It was like I couldn't escape, ya know?

But I understand they have changed for the better. And, I won't be in the same kind of very high stress, make me cry at the end of the day position, I was in before. And believe me, that's good.

It was an appalling combination of things.

The first three months I worked out on a project where we were walking transects across a GIANT field every day in 90 degree weather. My colleague wouldn't let me rest AT ALL, like we ate lunch walking across the field. He was an asshole and every day he would scream at me about something, usually my inability to walk a straight line. Or my inability to walk in a circle. Or my inability to hold the GPS unit properly. Or my inability to find satellites. The field was all tall grass, and the seeds were UNREAL.... SO itchy!

We spent three months walking across the field DAY AFTER DAY. Walk towards the mesa, walk towards the gravel pit. Walk towards the mesa, walk towards the gravel pit. Walk towards the mesa, walk towards the gravel pit. Walk towards the mesa, walk towards the gravel pit. It was so boring I thought about and came to terms with every failed relationship I've ever had.

Usually the day would be over when I ran out of water. I was drinking about 3 liters a day, but I still ran out every day. :(

That was the tip of the iceberg as far as lame projects and horrifying colleagues went. :(

I've had a little more energy this week, but tragically it's been pouring so I haven't been able to get much done in the garden. Which is sort of good, because I've been worried all week that the outside plants would alternately drown/freeze. :P

It's march in California, the redbuds are abloom, it's springtime, yet it snowed down to 500 feet the other day. First march snow in San Francisco since 18-something. Like, what the hell?
