I've lost 30 POUNDS in the last 7 months!!!
I was 279, now I'm 249!!!

In early August of last year in the NDSU Bison football locker room at the beginning of summer training camp, I weighed myself at a hefty 279 pounds. Now I have lived a somewhat different lifestyle in the past 7 months than I did last summer. I have been snacking a LOT less during the day during my school year, basically eating my meals with less added on, I have tried to consume an average dose of at least 70-75% of the daily recommended dose of fruits and veggies (a couple big glasses of OJ and a big banana every morning help out, along with a salad with dinner), and taking multivitamins every morning also helps. I really have not increased my activity, though. Yet I still was able to lose 30 POUNDS in the past 7 months!!!

The weird thing is that this has happened so gradually that I haven't really noticed that much. I weighed myself on a fairly new bathroom scale at my parent's house, so I hope the figures aren't too off. Add to the fact that you generally way a couple pounds lighter in the morning than at night, and it's the middle of the night.

I'm sooooo freaking happy right now!! I hadn't weighed myself in a LOOONG time. Last time I weighed myself was at the doctor's office last November, when I weighed in at 267, so I knew I had lost weight then. But I can't BELIEVE I went all the way under 250!!

Sometimes when you're really obese like I was, a slight lifestyle change over many months can lead to a LOT of weight loss. This ROCKS!!

I'm soooo frickin' happy!!!

3. Sometimes all it takes is a diet alteration!!
And gradual weight loss is the best, anyway.

4. Yeah!!! I think my blood pressure might be back to normal too.
I was in the borderline high/high normal range when I was 267 and at the doctor. It was 136 over 86. I'm betting that 15-20 lbs. taken off must have some positive effect on that now. I might now be in the normal normal range.

9. Good on ya!
That's a nice healthy way to go! I did that too and dropped about a pound a week last year. I'm not at my wedding weight but I lost about 12 pounds and feel much better. I ate all my daily requirements of fruits and vegs and only ate meat once a day. I ate whole grains so I really didn't get hungry. After about two weeks of no chocolate or sweets I was over my cravings.

Keep it up!! That's very inspiring!
