How many of you are married but don't wear a ring?
I'm in the middle of some serious weight loss and now all the rings I own are way too big! The other night I was leaving a friend's house and my ring flew off my finger when I was backing out of the parking lot. So I'm sans ring for a while. Anyone else married and not wearing a ring?

1. Yo
I work all day with my hands and hate having anything on them. Also, I don't need to advertise the fact that I'm married - I know, my spouse knows, and that's all I need.

I hope your weight loss is something you are doing actively, and not the result of a health issue.

4. I have borderline diabetes...
I'm losing weight with exercise and cutting out sugar. It's amazing the weight you lose when you just stop drinking soda and eating crap!

10. Good for you!
I mean, that you are taking an active hand in managing your diabetes. Yes, it is amazing how much room there is in one's eating day once you eliminate the sugary extras (though I do it the bad way - there's room for a bag of BBQ potato chips now that I stopped drinking sodas)

15. I drink diet soda...
Jones has a really GREAT sugar free creme soda that is just amazing. It's better than the regular creme soda, and that stuff is great! And I have found I love fruit. I still eat my Haagen Daaz Ice cream though. The doc told me not to deprive myself. So i picked strawberry ice cream which is my favorite sin. It's all natural and doesn't screw with my blood sugar amazingly enough. Could be that I only eat five bites at a time. Anyway, I've found ways to replace what I used to do with fruit or something salty. And I'm STILL losing weight! I don't miss sugar as much as I thought. I don't miss feeling ill.

2. Not myself but...
I have met other couples who lost or out grew their rings and never replaced or resized them and have been married a long time.

3. I never wear a ring
I have some sensory issue and don't wear jewelry because of it. Jewelry of any kind drives me batty.

My husband doesn't wear his either because he just doesn't like it.

Oh well. We're very happily married.

5. I wear only my engagement ring and our tenth anniversary is in April.
We are considering finally getting real wedding rings for it at last!

(his and my band) were lost in a raging fire some years ago and we can't afford to buy any new ones. By the way, our anniversary is this Friday....St. Patrick's Day!!

7. I bought Skip's silver ring for ten bucks on Amazon

He loves it and it's held up better than mine.
It's about sentiment, not about price or if it's gold.

8. I am wearing the first ring my husband got me instead
It was too tight at the time he gave it to me. Now it fits. My wedding ring is much too loose now. My husband wants me to have the wedding ring resized, but I am supposed to gain a little bit more weight and don't want a tight ring to discourage me.

11. my husband doesn't wear his
he has really sensitive skin and for some reason the silver band makes him itch.... and I think it's too small as well. (he has huge hands)

12. Had mine resized when I got fat.
Pretty soon I'll have to get it made smaller.
The diet is working.
:-)

I don't have it on right now.
Usually do when I'm going out.
Don't like to wear jewelry much.

13. Technically, mine is an engagement ring.
It's an antique cabochon garnet set in an antique oval rose gold setting. It actually is a Victorian engagement ring.

It's what we bought instead of a wedding ring.

His is also antique, 1920s white gold over yellow gold.

14. I only wear mine in public, usually...
Unless I am having an unusually sentimental day around the house. My engagement ring is always getting snagged on things (it's not very big, it just catches the edge of sweaters and things) and I am always worried about getting them dirty for some reason... My husband wears his 24/7.

18. My ring lives in a jewelry box
...It's been years since I wore it. My hands must be very sensitive, because wearing rings makes my fingers feel prickly, like when someone rubs the same spot on your arm for too long.

I *think* my husband understands.

20. Speaking as a newly married person (less than a year),
I wouldn't feel "right" if I went out into the world without my ring. To me, anything other would be pretty shady.
