'Puter help desperately needed!
HELP!!! :D

I did a search of "all files & folders" to see if I have the Excel.exe application on my 'puter...and I do. It says size = 6.83 MB, so something's there! The excel.exe is at; D:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office

Now I'm trying to open Excel on my 'puter. I set up a shortcut to Excel. But when I try to open the damn thing it says;

"This application must be installed to run. Please run Setup from the location where you originally installed the application."

Huh???!

I barely know how to turn the puter on & off...now what do I do (aside from yelling for HELP!!! :D )

4. You're probably gonna have to uninstall/re-install
There's clearly some files missing from setup/shortcuts etc. Do you have the original install disc?

3. Do you have the install disc?
If so, put in the CD drive and let it auto install or check for Excell in Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. Sometimes these programs are on the hard drive, but not fully installed or it may become corrupted and need to be reinstalled.

Shortcut didn't get messed up.
The default place for software intstalls is usually in C:\Program Files

Try doing this:

Go to the 'Start' menu
Choose ALL Programs and see if you see excel in the list
