I just got a letter from the former owner of the corporation I work for stating they applied for a waiver of the minimum pension funding for my defined benefit pension they still hold. In the 1980's this company did the same thing and got their waiver to not fund the pension that was already underfunded and then after a couple years they dumped it on the PBGC. Then we negotiated a new defined contribution plan with them and latter we gave that up for this defined benefit plan. Now I have a new pension with the current owner and it looks like we could go bankrupt again and loose a 4th pension. Like I say isn't it great to be an American today. With 36 years years of work at the same location and I have earned a pension of $186 a month from the PBGC and the PBGC is technically bankrupt too.

I'm so utterly sick of the whole "This is the greatest country in the WORLD! You should be proud and honored to have been born here" etc bullshit that's been shoved down my throat my entire life. I'm sick of the people on DU who are all "This is MY country, I'll stay and defend it until the END" etc. WTFever, it's a piece of greed controled shit...with no culture, no interest in educating its children in any meaningful way. If this is what appeales to you, if greed, cultural vacuum, willful ignorance is what appeales to you... then please. HAVE FUCKING AT IT. I detest this country.
