What's your favorite mash-up?

My current favorite is the Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic" vs. Herbie Hancock "Rockit" vs. INXS "Need You Tonight" vs. AC/DC "Back in Black." My all-time favorite is Led Zep's "Moby Dick" vs. Beyonce "Crazy in Love" on a mix CD asthmaticeog gave me as a Festivus gift. Missy elliot vs. Joy Division is another favorite.

1. You should check out DJ Z-Trip and DJ P's "Uneasy Listening"

One of the best mash-up mixes I've ever heard.

Highlights:
Depeche Mode's "Condemnation", into Bruce Hornsby's "The Way It Is", featuring samples from Run DMC's "It's Like That", all over Nucleus' "Jam On It", which then goes into Midnight Oil's "Beds Are Burning" over Metallica's "For Whom The Bell Tolls"

3. Sirius has a channel called Boombox,

which plays a lot of mashups.

Once I hear them, I usually download them from a file sharing program like Limewire.

4. A recent fave of mine is

the music bed from "Where is My Mind" by the Pixies with Dylan's vocal from "Blowin' in the Wind."

Evolution Control Committee's Public Enemy/Herb Alpert mashups, which may well be the very first mashups, are evergreens, and will never stop being totally fucking hilarious.

But I think my all time fave remains Christina Aguilera's vocal from "What a Girl Wants" over the Velvet Underground's "Rock and Roll." It improves both songs, which is god damn astonishing.
