Time for MLB predictions: When will your team be out of playoff contention
I love the Cincinnati Reds and I'm guessing sometime around Flag Day (June 14th) they'll be stastically eliminated from playoff contention!

2. Seattle Mariners
April 1.

Okay, realistically, May 1, just like the last two years. A terrible April will doom them to another 99 loss season.

7. Yeah, by the time I see a game of theirs
They'll be out of contention, and I plan on going to the Indians game on April 22.

Then again, 2003 was supposed to be a bad year for the Royals, and they managed to win a bunch (only thing that kept Sweeney there).

I can't wait for former Husker Alex Gordon to get up to the pros. That probably won't be until next year though it's possible he could get a cup of coffee in September. Waiting for him to get back to Rosenblatt though.

4. Join the Pirates in the race for the bottom!
Although I think the Bucs can hold on until Independence Day.

Middle of June. It's the Cubs, after all.

6. Cubs are a heartbreak team - they try to give you hope throught the season
and then choke sometime right before the playoffs or possibly right in the first round of the playoffs

8. Hey there's hope
The last two world series were won by teams who hadn't won forever, so maybe this is the Cubs year.

9. Well, Chicago has one World's Champion baseball team.
So, I guess we shouldn't be greedy.

I don't know what the problem is with the Cubs. Maybe a change of ownership...I'm not sure the Tribune Company really cares that much about the Cubs. I don't know.

20. They're Already Choking
Two best pitchers are going to be sitting for the whole spring. Maybe longer. Once again, Prior and Wood are hurt! Crossing fingers that Prior's thing isn't a big deal, but no definitive word yet.

23. I heard he won't be in the starting rotation for the start of the season
An MRI has shown a shoulder strain in his throwing arm.

26. If You Can Believe That
The last time he had an sore achilles and it turned out he had severe tendinitis in his throwing elbow. And, two years ago, Wood was perfectly fine, then he had about a 89mph fastball and couldn't hit the strike zone if it were the size of Arizona. He had to have surgery.

So, i wouldn't take much stock in what the Cubs release regarding injuries to these two guys. With their stuff, if they could stay in one piece, they'd be 17 to 20 game winners. Without them, the Cubs are a 75 win team. Guess i'll be waiting another year.

31. Let's make a trade.
I'm a Dbacks fan. Both our teams need pitching but, that being said, I'd still trade you Russ Ortiz for a bag of baseballs. Gawd, he's awful! One of the worst trades the Dbacks ever made and they have made some doozies!

32. OK!! LOL!
A bag of baseballs! Good one! I can rustle up the baseballs and we get a guy who can at least warm up a catcher. Probably could throw batting practice too. I mean he's already getting hit like a guy who's trying to groove pitches.

When Barry Bonds left. They obviously have never had anyone on steroids in Pittsburgh, except maybe the Steelers!

They'll meet up with a clearly superior team, pull off one win and exit quietly.

27. I'll be happy if they win the West
Or even make a race out of it and finish second.

One thing I hate is a pennant race that's decided early. The real thrill is in the chase.

39. I usually agree
with you, but last year's NL race was less about who would win it than it was whether or not the winner would finish .500 or better. It made me sick

The worst thing was that the Dodgers had the talent to win the whopping 83 games necessary to win that division and couldn't. You know what really breaks my heart? Seeing the playoffs start and honestly, truly not giving a shit who wins. That's what happened to me last year.

41. Last year's finish wasn't about talent
It was all the breaking news — elbows, shoulders, fingers...

Good news: Gagne's thrown a couple times this spring.

21. Dbacks - out in Sept.
But... it could be a lot sooner if our starting pitching doesn't hold up. Right now all we have that is any good is Brandon Webb. But the rest of the NLW hasn't improved much over last year so right now it looks to be anyone's guess who will win the west.
