Recipes: Cherry Blackberry Scottish ale.

2. You must have a taste for "dryness", i.e. it's not sweet.

It's a rich dark ale and the cherries are not like raisins (sweet). They're puff-dried cherries with no sugar added, quite tart, but very cherryey and the blackberry is just in the background and naturally tart. The cherries float and they're nice after they've soaked for a while.

I live on nuts and berries. Treated myself to some nice ale tonight, in honor of my name-sake's day tomorrow.

Which, unfortunately, is quite brutal if one overindulges.

4. Yeah, I learned about sweet alcohol on rum and coke and a box of

chocolates after a big wedding dinner, a long time ago. I found Tequila easier to take later, but that was a long time ago too. I really don't like lots of alcohol, never did really. Though now I really love good wine and rich dark beers.
