Remember to wear red on St. Joseph's Day |
|
This Sunday. He's the patron saint of Italy and Poland. So wear red if you're either of those nationalities.

I think this Sunday is St. Joseph's Table. We have a dinner at church on that day and the ladies fix all kinds of fancy stuff. It's fun.

And the superstition also was that if you died on St. Joseph's Day, you went straight to heaven. Go figure!

But I'll wear pink for St. Joseph's (Aspirin) instead. :)

4. I'm neither - but I am a great devotee of St. Joseph. |
|
So I'll put a red tie on (I have no other red clothing).

8. And of course, pull the ears of anyone named Joseph. |
|
My Italian family used to do that; did anyone else's family? (And my poor father's name was Joseph, so he always got his ears pulled that day.)

10. that's it! my father's gonna get his ears pulled- |
|
(italian family here too and his birth certificate has him as *Guisseppe* but he has always used Joseph) we usually wish him a happy St.Joseph's Day but I've never heard of the ear-pulling part. I bet he got his ears pulled as a kid, but he has kept that from the next generation, or at least me. no more... i'm on it. :) thanks!

9. We go to St. Joseph's Table for a mostaccioli lunch |
|
every year. If we didn't go, their beer & wine concession wouldn't reap any donations.
