Suggestions Needed

I don't want to offend anyone with my sig line photo of Howard Dean, but since I'm really a big Dean supporter (donated to him, gone to meetups, ect) I want to keep the photo because I like the idea of him kicking GOP butt and I think it's a cute photo.

I've talked about this with the higher-ups, and they've said if I can make it clearer that I'm not attacking Dean I can keep it.

But I don't know exactly what I could do. So I'm tossing this out here to see if any other Dean supports have any suggestions. I'm open to anything.

Can you help me?

I've gone to the meetups and contributed also (and got a nice Christmas card from the Dean campaign asking for another donation. :-))

That photo is exactly what we need. The Borg WAS kickass. I like to think of Dean being the same way.

I don't think that photo attacks Dean at all.

3. I am no supporter of X-Ray Dean...

If I was I would not use that photo. Dean has some very good ideas and some vary lame ones. But those don’t matter in today’s political arena. He will be attacked personally. One of the standard angles is that he has a 'temper' problem or that he is a 'hot head'. You seem to be promoting that angle.

I would try to get a photo that typifies a positive in Dean. He is a populist. Try that angle not the raging terminator pic. It does not work.

4. Why does it matter?....................

If you support him, vote for him.

I don't completely understand why things are so contentious when it comes to our particular choices as to who should get the Democratic nomination.

It's amazing to me that there is so much animosity surrounding these upcoming primaries, when we all essentially want the same thing.....to oust Bush.

Further, if anyone is offended by your picture and sig, then they need to grow thicker skin.

What's REALLY offensive is the picture of the kittens.....they were obviously made to lay there against their will to pose for that picture. I am HIGHLY offend by that.

because the admins are trying to keep this place on the cusp of sanity and civility. If I can help by changing the photo, I'll do it.

not that my opinion is all that valuable around here yet, but I too support Dean and the picture doesn't offend me at all.

In fact, nothing that I've seen yet on DU or otherwise has (or can) shake my support of him.

7. actually....

the sappy photo of the cutzie kitties bothers my high-brow aesthetics far more than the crisp satire of Dean. I plead guilty be being a true contrarianand I regret that once again, Magic Rat's sterling creativity is getting mussled.

BTW... part of what is beginning to BOTHER me about Dean are the responses and comments of his supporters. I have mixed feelings about the guy but his people here at DU aren't doing a damn thing to win me over. Quite the opposite -- they are often a HUGE turn-off.

8. change "I'm"

to "The Dr is" ?

I like the " I'm back...puny Republicans" line. But if you change it to " The Dr is back...puny Republicans" it makes it more clear that it's a Dr Dean kicks a$$ kind of sig rather than Magic Rat's back kind of sig.

or am I not making sense? :shrug:
