Oddly enough, I'm an atheist too.

But I'm also a New Yorker with mild neurosis. Which is to say, I'm a New Yorker.

5. My personal superstition

If I spontaneously hear a David Bowie song in the morning (as opposed to purposefully putting on a CD), it will be a good day.

Of course this superstition only worked when I still listened to the radio. Now I either listen to a CD or NPR, which rarely plays Bowie :-).
