In honor of St. Patty's Day, I'm Irish! Really! (Large pic)
Here is a capture of the 1870 Iowa Census that lists my great, great grandfather. You can also see to the right that his birthplace as well as that of my great, great grandmother is Ireland. Also, scroll down and you will see the name Jerome. This is a family name that many of us have in the family.

Here is a picture of Jerome:

Curiously enough, this Irish American went to Mexico to find work and raised most of his children there I believe. I'm still working on that. I'm digging this genealogy.

1. Someone a while ago recommended a book to me...
something to do with the Irish in Mexico. I didn't read the book and cannot remember the name or author. But there is written history of this.

Great photo, and great story.

That name is Irish correct? My family's surname is Ó Clumháin, we think.

6. It's not a name...
It means Our Day Will Come.

After yesterday, I am a bit afraid to post this. But it is a Sinn Fein slogan.

:hide:

My Irish surname in Irish is de Roiste...I think. From what I have read.

3. Fascinating
I am interested in what you find.

Could I get a heads-up PM from you if you do a follow-up post?

:hi:
