to see an inconsiderate, self-centered driver in an H2 Hummer! I mean, who'da thunk it - H2 drivers are all paragons of virtue, surely?

What brings on this particular rant was an incident last night. I was waiting at a red light to go east. Northbound traffic had the green, and traffic turning west from the northbound lanes. Their turn light turned red and the light for the southbound lanes turned green. About 45 seconds after southbound traffic got the green - and after they'd started to cross the intersection - some bimbo in an H2 Hummer - with, of course, a cell phone glued to her ear - zips through the left turn from the northbound lanes. Much honking, screeching of brakes, near-misses from southbound traffic. The worst thing - a kid pushing a bicycle across the intersection - IN a crosswalk, WITH a walk light - she missed him by about six inches, and screeched along on her inconsiderate, self-centered asshole way.

GAWD. Now, I'm not one to judge people (normally) by the kind of car they drive, but that woman was a stereotype waiting to happen. She was bleach blonde, too.

should be banned in the United States, with exception for military use only.

Anyone caught driving a Hummer should be placed 250 miles away from home and begin walking and hitchhiking -- in the nude. (Women should be wearing a perma-ugly-face-mask)

3. The worst thing is

I doubt she even noticed the near-tragedy she caused - I don't think she even saw all the cars that had to screech to a stop, nor did she see the kid she nearly creamed. She was too busy on the phone sex line, or calling for a pizza, or yelling, CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW, or whatever it is that people feel they MUST do on the telephone while driving. Maybe she was a brain surgeon talking someone through an emergency recto-craniotomy. Her own, perhaps.

Can you imagine what a vehicle that size would have done to the kid with the bike?
