Anyways! Yep, I had to work...but that didn't matter much, since EVERYONE at work seemed psyched that it was my birthday. I got pieces of cake and cupcakes from six different coworkers, none of whom were in collusion with each ohter (this didn't/doesn't happen with the other people there; I asked). After work, they had a dance party in my honor in the manager's office. We danced to OutKast, Kanye and The Jam (my request!) until 3 AM. We turned the lights off and shone flashlights at each other while we danced...there were about seven or eight of us. It was sweet.

When I got home, I discovered that my band had come by and dropped off a case of Reed's Ginger Ale (in bottles!) at the apt.

In short, it was a MUCH better birthday than I had anticipated (last year, I stayed home and watched "Law and Order" with my wife). AND THEN I log onto DU and see THIS thread.....Wow. I feel like a million bucks. Thanks, you guys. I mean it: you all rock very very hard.
