Should I do laundry or go buy new clothes?
I am in the process of moving and only have a small amount of clothes with me, which are dirty. Even if I wash what I have here, I don't have enough to get me through work for the week. So, I can either go back to my old apt. (which is about 40 minutes away and infested with cockroaches) and get more clothes, and do all the laundry, OR I can go out and buy some new clothes which I need anyway

2. I'd say
go ahead and buy all new outerwear, but if you buy new underwear, wash it before you wear it.

And there you have it. A helpful tip from auntie frogmarch.

6. A childhood friend of mine
Edited on Sun Mar-19-06 06:55 PM by frogmarch
once got a bad rash around her waist that was hard to get rid of. When it started turning into blisters, her mom took her to the doctor. While the doctor was trying to figure out what caused it, she and her mom mentioned that she had worn new undies without first washing them. He told them the rash was probably caused by manufacturing chemicals or miniscule insects in the elastic.

He may have been wrong, but after that, she never wore new undies w/o first washing them in hot water. I never have worn undies straight from the store, because my mom taught me not to.

Edited to add: Investigators in the JonBenet Ramsey case say it's possible that the degraded DNA found in her underpants after she died came from a factory worker during their manufacture. The investigators said this DNA could have even come from a sneeze. Ewww.
