Would it be weird to alphabetize the DVD collection?

Pretty much three genres - rock, country and classical. Then they're alphabetized and any multiples are in order of release.

DVD's and Videos are simply alphabetized except for the Star Trek collection which has its own little area and is in order of release.

My vinyl was always alphabetized (with side one up)when I had vinyl, my CD's are alphabetized (with multiple discs by an artist filed in order of release) and my DVD's and videos are all alphabetized.

Oh, and my books are arranged by the Dewey decimal system.

(I use the free version & it's wonderful. The only real limits are the cover scans are a lower resolution and you have a little less webspace if you want to make your collection available for browsing online. It also displays small banner ads (ala unregistered Opera).)

I got a hefty dvd collection, and my wife, and others would complain about trying to find a certain movie...they would hunt and hunt for it...and my wife suggested that I alphabatize my collection, and i did. I also left room for 4 dvds on each shelf, for future growth...i had to use some of my book moving experience, to come up with that one..:) It didn't take me too long, about two hours...and movies that started with THE, i had them under the T's, I didn't omit the The, in any title...so my Ts dvds take up some space.

keeping all of them in one of those cd booklet things--saves a ton of space.

34. We have over 200 DvDs so yes we alphabetize and

have them listed on our PDA so we can check and see if we have already bought them. Most come from the pawn shops for around $4.00.

I have just enough DVDs to make a row in the bookcase, so I alphabetize it.

If you have a very large collection, you might want to organize it by genre.

That's how mine are arranged. For me, it's easier to remember them that way. Sometimes, trying to put them in categories is more difficult.
