Can I have a hug? I lost my dog today...

she was almost 11. She's been in my family for all but two months of her life. We saw her through hyperactive thyroid, liver failure, Cushing's Disease, surgery on her leg, a cortisone shot that stunted her growth, and so much more. But she started breathing funny last night so we took her to the emergency pet hospital this morning where they said she had congestive heart failure. She passed away this afternoon. Too many strikes against her, I guess.

She was the cutest little beagle. (The picture is fuzzy, I know, but it is the only one on my computer right now and I wanted to put one up.)

Last Night
I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peek.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.
I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."
I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.
I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.

I'm really sorry to hear your news. I understand how you feel, we just lot our 7 year old cat who passed away suddenly a month ago. No words can make the pain go away but know you gave your dog a very happy life and family..

We lost our beagle, Katy and our border terrier, Toby. Katy died from congestive heart failure at 13. And, Toby died in his sleep at 17. Broke our hearts. It's been 3 years, and we still cry for them sometimes. We have 3 cats now. They have been a great comfort.
