...oh, and David Robinson isn't intrested either, but the Cars are still "reforming". Oh, I'm sorry, the "New Cars". :eyes: Dammit, this is worse than the New Queen.

The Cars Reform, With Rundgren
The Cars have returned -- well, the New Cars, now fronted by Todd Rundgren. Gathered with founding members Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes to make the announcement at Los Angeles' House of Blues on Tuesday, Rundgren may have sounded deeper than enigmatic Cars frontman Ric Ocasek, but he had the look down, in glued-on dark shades and a sharply cut sports jacket.

(snip)

The New Cars then launched into a mini-set of Cars pop classics, including "Just What I Needed" and "Candy-O,"

Hey, gang, wanna see two-fifths of the Cars play tonight? Ugh.

6. Kind of like
the Doors with Paul McCartney! Not that Todd Rundgren's a milquetoast, but he's got his own career, made over a dozen records on his own, another dozen with the bands Nazz and Utopia, produced another hundred or so, has his own sound and expertise and a style a lot more wide-ranging than the skinny tie sound of the Cars. The only thing he has in common with them is a similar sarcasm re romance.

4. the "new" Cars are running lots of ads, saw one in the arts section of
Su NYTimes. But a Freddy Mercury-less Queen? I dunno but this one bothers me the most, I have a dvd of Queen live I think it's in Germany in 1980 something (sorry tired) when Freddie was at his prime. I ache to think of him looking down and seeing Paul Rogers attempting to sing his compositions.

7. The 'Old Cars' was the worst live show I've ever seen.
I should have saved myself some money and stayed home and listened to my cassettes.

8. Not as bad as chunky Axl and a bunch of nobodys as "Guns N Roses" on SNL
!

That was horrific to levels I have never even....oh.

I remember stupid Jimmy Fallon (who generally is kind of adorable) jumping up and down and all excited, and then out came some overweight old dude with dreads claiming to be Axl, and some other guy with a mask on so you couldn't see he wasn't Slash, and some other guys....I was like....um...seriously? Just call this mess something else.

Me no like, and I wasn't even that much of a GNR fan. :scared:
