Tornado Warning
We've been in a severe drought. Now we have HUGE thunderstorms. Earlier there was a tornado warning for our area. I'm seriously storm phobic. Never had a problem until I was pregnant with my second child. Then it occured to me that I simply don't have enough arms to swoop up two children. I'm constantly telling my husband "I'll grab this one, you grab that one."

:scared: :scared: :scared:

3. Thank You
everyone in the house is sleeping peacefully while this huge storm passes over. Here I sit, about ready to launch from my chair. If someone clapped their hands next to me right now, I think I'd go airborne.

4. Do you have a NOAA weather radio?
I have one, battery operated that will wake me when storms happen at night, so I can get the family downstairs.

My dad has never shopped himself for family christmas presents, but several years ago he went to Radio Shack and bought one for us kids. Best gift anyone ever gave me.

2. deep breaths

Discussing your game plan, should one head your way, is the best way to deal with the fear.
I think that you are wise to do that.

Deep breaths & good luck through the storms. I think they are heading this way.

We both will be okay.

When I saw the tornado warning for Dripping Springs, I totally freaked. We are about 10 miles away.

Breathing.......breathing.........breathing

15. LOL, believe you me (whatever the fuck that means)
I won't stay in the tin can during bad weather.

It is rocking and rolling now and the gusts aren't that bad, no way in hell will I stay in this thing if it gets as bad as they are predicting.

No siree, no recreation of the Wizard of Oz for me.

thanks for the gentle threat ;)

7. I live in Tennessee, aka, Tornado alley.....
...don't take it lightly, and be prepared. Have a place in mind to hide. Caution is always the better part of valor.

9. Do you have a weather radio?
Make sure you have batteries in it, and go ahead and fix a little nest for your family to ride out the bad weather. Maybe an interior hallway, bathroom, or closet.

Hugs to you. Bad weather is unnerving. We're supposed to get it tomorrow.

16. Thank you for the dose of confidence!
No sirens that I'm aware of. Never heard any. We don't get them all that often. It's too hilly. (or so I tell myself) but a big enough storm will drop a tornado anywhere.

It seems to be easing off now. Whew. I may actually get some sleep tonight. ;)

20. Calming down now
I'm gonna head to bed. I'm gonna try to get to sleep real fast, that way if another storm rolls through, maybe I'll sleep through. ;) The news is saying no more chance for tornados.

Thanks everyone for riding it out with me.
