Good morning, Lounge! How was your weekend?
It was cold but sunny here in Michigan.

Finally saw Brokeback Mountain...damn that's a beautiful movie. Now we just have to see it sometime when there isn't a chatterbox sitting behind us commenting on the film the whole time. "Ooooh. She left her sweater. Wait...what did he say?" :grr:

Ate good food, had a blast with The Boy, and fell deeper in love with Goofus Rufus Harley. This cat plays FETCH with a toy mouse. He's so damn cute.

Tell us about YOUR weekend.

1. Had a fairly quiet weekend here
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 09:27 AM by auntAgonist
I couldn't do a whole lot because of my body of bruises. Ended up getting xrays on saturday night, nothing broken. Got vicodin to help with the pain, but it doesn't do much. Hubby worked really hard and replaced the water softener and water heater. The contractors are here this morning to begin tearing out all the old ductwork and put in a new heating and cooling system. I sure hope it doesn't get TOO cold this week!!

I have to go to Bloomfield hills today to see my Dr for my one year checkup. I'm hoping he can help me resolve some issues.

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend Progmom!! I really enjoyed your show on Saturday :)

:loveya:

22. I'm glad you went in for x-rays
And I am really sorry you're in so much pain.

Sounds like exciting upgrades on the home front. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a moderate weekend.

2. Good morning, beautiful!
:hi:

I had a mellow weekend. We ended our "Angel"-thon, ate chili and beer, went grocery shopping and putzed around the house. It was a very mellow weekend.

3. Good morning progmom.
:hi:

Had a frustrating Saturday - as most was spent watching the rugby (to no good avail :grr: bloody touch-judge), but otherwise lazy.

Yesterday was mostly spent in the kitchen. Made Sunday lunch for my family, then a vast batch of soup in the evening to have for lunch during the week.....all jolly fun, especially as other folk didn't come into the kitchen (I am a total and utter vicious tyrannt whilst cooking).

39. It was originally gong to be cream of fennel....
but when I went to the supermarket they had run out of fennel...so I had to abandon any recipes and make it up on the spot. I went with swede, celeriac and parsnip - it works jolly well to my mind.

6. Good morning!
Watched my brother's team go down to defeat (boo hoo) on in the NCAA Women's tournament (he coaches, doesn't play ;)) Saturday while having a great Zingerman's lunch with my parents.

Wrote proposals for a deal my SO is doing that he's known about for weeks but waited until the last minute as usual, then had to deal with his hysteria about getting it out. I don't know why I have to drop everything and take care of things when there are certain household things I've been asking for for 8 months.....

Hey, I got the name for those ugly flowers. Allium. And they are a member of the onion family.

Introduced K to the Roadhouse on Sunday. I think we'll be going back there soon.

And you need to get that SO of yours busy on those projects now that the weather is getting better. :)

Hey - we still have a Miller Lite in the fridge. You and Mary should come by again sometime soon.

Not a fan of the Roadhouse, sorry to say. What did you have? The only thing I've had there that I really like is the burger.

The deli now, that's a different story. Yum.

40. It was, I found out, the three-year-old's second protest.
She was just a baby the last time (three years ago, actually)...and this time she alternated between wanting to sit on her dad's shoulders so she could see (and sing along with the Johnny Cash on the PA :D), and, unfortunately, whining/yelling.

It's kind of jarring, really, when the speaker's up there on the podium talking about the orders he was given to "just keep driving" if a child is used as a shield in the road, and the child you're with is whining/yelling and you feel guilty about thinking she's acting like a brat while you're getting nauseous picturing her in that road.

8. Lessee...
Friday night, had beers with our pal Dave L. who is a St. Paddy's b'day boy...Saturday, got up with no particular plans, ended up driving to IKEA in Chicago. It was apparently "Bring everyone you've ever met in your whole life to IKEA!!" day. Freakin' madhouse. Bought some bar stools, then as we looked at the traffic on the freeway for the drive home, decided to take a 2 hour detour and go see Beloit College where hedges (and eyesroll) went to school. It's so cute! :D

Yesterday, we were taken to breakfast by our friend Dave S. (or as Ruby calls him "other Dave"). Then we waited for the plumbers to fix what they broke on Friday (which had resulted in us have NO heat or hot water over the weekend...:grr:) after which we went to eyesroll's place for a fabulously YUMM-O (heh, S :P) brunch. There was Soysage! :o Ruby and eyesroll's SO's daughter ran amok and yelled and played and argued and played some more and painted (hope you guys got that cleaned up ok x() and crayoned and played and laughed and ran and yelled for about 3 hours. Then last night, we were taken to dinner by Jacob and Mattie at TGIF. We paid for nothing yesterday! :D

So it was a good, if utterly exhausting weekend. :hi:

9. It's always "bring everyone you've ever met to IKEA" day.
My office area is still paint-covered; we'll tackle it tonight. (It was still wet last night and that stuff's a lot easier to clean up dry.)

Hari was asleep by 8:15. She was seriously run ragged -- to the point where, after the nebulizer had finished, she voluntarily turned off "The Incredibles" and asked to go to bed. Thanks!!!

I have a cold but, somehow, my daughter managed to get me to run her up to the mall. MrG had Sunday off for the first time in since I don't know when. He took our kids and the neighbor's to a Motor City Mechanics game. A blast was had by all. On Sunday we just felt sorry for ourselves, because MrG was sick by that time too. :hi:

19. Hey, progmom! Sounds like you had fun.
My 9 yr old daughter officially started her softball season with her team on Saturday. Their team name is The Glitter Girls and they've all played together, as a team, since kindergarten and t-ball. They won their very first game, which was great. :woohoo:

We rented "The Constant Gardener" and "Walk the LIne". Both great movies.

Yesterday, my hubby and I participated in an all day workshop with a bunch of people about creating a clarity of Purpose to allow for the fulfillment of an extraordinary future. It was very cool and very uplifting.

20. my week end was fantastic
I went to Meijers Garden in Grand Rapids Mich with my son, daughter in law (whom I ADORE) and my teen age grandson to the butterfly festival . There were hundreds of the most beautiful butterflies , and beautiful plants including spectacular orchids. Also there is cool sculptures on the grounds but it was to cold to see much of that.

In May , I look forward to the Tulip festival at Holland and some light house browsing

35. I actually didn't have to work this weekend! WOOT!!
On Saturday I went shopping with my brother and SIL, and got too much stuff. Then we took mom out to dinner, because she was feeling low because my grandmother is a bitch(long story). So that was nice.

Then yesterday I made brownies and mom and I watched 'A History of Violence'(which I had got the day before), really intense, kinda weird, but really good movie. The acting was awesome. Then we watched 'The Ring Two' on HBO, that was crap. Then I watched Grey's Anatomy(I love that show).

Wow... I ramble a lot. :7

36. Hi progmom. It was nice and relaxing.
I saw a great show on Thursday, Friday I had a decent dinner, wine, and watched Bill Maher, Saturday slept in, played video games and went to work, Sunday I saw half of a community theater play then went to lunch with my parents and now I'm listening to my baby play good songs on the radio as I begin the countdown to my last day of working here. (9 1/2 days to go!) So all in all, not a bad run.

Glad you had a nice weekend too. :hi:

and had a wonderful vacation in Bellingham, WA, then the San Juan Islands, winding up with three full days at home with hardly anything to do.

So my weekend was the most relaxing one I've had in about six years, capped by the Red Wings stomping Vancouver last night.
