Rented two piss poor movies over the weekend:

quit a bit, though it's no Apocalypse Now or Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure.

I did get "Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" last week - I recommend it highly.

and I had the same response as you

I knew Sahara was going to suck HARD and then I saw them using an airplane to windsurf... HARDER...and then I saw "FLight of the Phoenix" and they looked a lot alike -HARDEST!!!

Monster in Law was a waste of time but I knew that going in.

9. Monster-in-law

Don't you just hate watching a movie for five minutes and already know how it will end? Just another typical "in-law" movie filled a bunch of predictable bad jokes in between the beginning and the end. The wife enjoyed it, I endured it.

High point - Jane Fonda is still looks great :9

I didn't see the first one but it seems like I really didn't need to.

Saw II was crazy! Had me thinking! Saw crazy stuff in there.

I am not sure if I would have hated Saw II if it hadn't been so disappointing to me compared to the first one.

The thing to keep in mind with me is that I'm really really really averse to gore in movies...so Saw II turned my stomach terribly.

Two words: Jennifer Lopez

And I've soured on Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt books since, I don't remember which one, Clive Cussler at one point brought in as a cameo character....Clive Cussler. I think it was ridiculously egotistical. I have no interest in seeing any of his books turned into movies.

I finally had a chance to see "A History of Violence" over the weekend. I very highly recommend it. :thumbsup:

24. Recommendation seconded - "A History of Violence" is an incredible film

Although a part of me wants Cronenberg to have one of his nightmares and do another Videodrome, he's never disappointed. Aside from Fast Company - which I know a lot of genre fans love (& you can't not like John Saxon) - I don't think he's made a bad film. The mind boggles as to what he'd've done if he stayed on board with Basic Instinct 2!
