Beastie Boys Think Dolly Was Robbed at Oscars
AUSTIN, Texas (March 17) - Mike D professed his love for the Prince film "Purple Rain," fellow Beastie Boy MCA talked about drinking with hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons and Ad Rock dished on his favorite books during the rap trio's spirited hour-long discussion with fans at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.

Little news came out of Wednesday's Q&A session, with fans asking the trio to talk about their early inspirations or discuss their views on rap combo Three 6 Mafia winning an Oscar for their "Hustle & Flow" tune.

"Nothing against them," Ad Rock said, "but we think Dolly Parton (nominated for a tune from "Transamerica") was robbed."

2. It was the best of the three songs nominated....
I thought it was sort of interesting that they could come up with only 3 songs for the Best Song category.

4. Maybe it was just me....
but I thought a song about a life affirming transexual was more worthy of an Oscar than "It's Hard to Be a Pimp"....

Silly me.

8. I know, that was the tragedy.
Only 3 songs? Come ON!

I think they did that so they'd spend less time on performances.
