They have the pronounced brow ridges and low foreheads of Homo erectus, but appear to exhibit the mental sophistication & language skills of Neanderthalensis.

18. Here's the premise:
Geico put out a hypothetical ad wherein they claim their website is so easy to use, even a caveman could figure it out. The cavemen you see in the real ad got offended, and Geico is taking them out to dinner to apologize for insulting their intelligence.

That's what I understand it to be. Beats the hell out of more overplayed gecko ads.

43. Yeah. It helps to have seen the prequels.
It started with a caveman techie on the commercial set getting upset at the line, and in a later commercial, cavemen sitting at home (in an upscale pad) were annoyed to have seen it on their television. These are the ones who are shown being taken out for dinner and an apology in the current iteration.

I find the deadpan delivery hilarious.

I never pay attention to commercials. I have the ability to tune them out even when the volume is at full blast. But I keep catching the last bit of this caveman thing and it's driving me nuts that I don't know what the heck is going on. LOL.

35. The Quiznos baby is great.
But there is a car rental commercial that is hilarious.

The doctor walks in and the patient is leaning over for his "examine"

The doctor is pulling a glove onto this hand that has HUGE fingers.

And the patient makes a break for the door.

I Laugh out loud everytime.

24. I HATE That Commercial
Yeah, i agree with you that they have a bad attitude, but there's another thing that bugs me.

In the first commerical, the guy is watching a plasma TV and the other one is playing a white grand piano, in a living room large enough in which to land a plane!

THEY'RE NOT CAVEMEN! THEY DON'T LIVE IN A CAVE! The guy on the commercial doesn't insult Cro-Magnons or Neanderthals! He says C-A-V-E-M-A-N! If they don't live in a cave (and they don't) he's not talking about them! That bugs the crap out of me!

27. Yes, but the Cavemen know that "Caveman" is just code...
For Neandertal or Cromag. Perhaps they should call themselves Caveman-Americans?

The commercial with the chic loft does feature cave art on a large canvas. They are true to their roots, even though they are up-to-date in many respects.

I consider myself Irish-American, although I neither live in a shanty nor own any lace curtains. Of course, I've got very long toes & a brow ridge that prevents my wearing most ladies' hats--it's only noticeable when I'm trying on millinery. Perhaps I'm taking this too personally.

28. Irish Is An Ancestry and Nationality
Neaderthal and Cro-Magnon are species, not nationalities. Caveman means someone who lives in a cave. These are two uptight yuppies with more attitude than sense. It sucks the humor out of the commercial for me.

29. Cro-Magnons are Homo sapiens!

Guess I'm still taking it too seriously. Current theories hold that the most common Irish bloodlines began long before the Celts arrived--we go 'way back!

(And--this serious discussion was inspired by a TV Commercial!)

Hey, we're havin' fun! I'm southern italian, and they have found fossil evidence of humans there that are only about 30,000 years newer than australopithicus. So, we go back a ways too! But, i ain't no caveman.

46. Speaking of humor...
that reminds me of the FedEx commercial where the caveman office flunkie tries to have the packaged delivered by pterodactyl. When that fails, his boss asked him if he used FedEx. Flunkie says, no, FedEx hasn't been invented yet. Boss - "not my problem. You're fired." The flunkie storms out of the cave, kicks the little raptor and promptly gets stepped on. That one just cracks me up. (Having been an office flunkie myself for years, this makes perfect sense to me.)
