I have decided, since money is a bit scarce, to give him my Epiphone Les Paul. He already plays it better than I ever did.
But the acoustic is still mine. :-)
We went and got his passport Monday. They suggested I come back after his birthday since he can only get a 5 year now and can get a 10 year when he is 16.
I told them I planned on him emigrating in a few years so it wouldn't matter. Yes, I know he will still be a US citizen for a while but I still had to say it. They didn't ask the follow-up, WHY, so I didn't get to tell them the reason. That I will not sacrifice my children to serve this illegal regime.
My son is a big man. 6 foot 2 and the passport guy kept asking, do you play football. No. Do you play basketball. No.
I said he plays the guitar and that is good enough for me.
He is going to France and Switzerland this summer to visit my in-laws and study the intricacies of Thrash Metal with his Swiss uncle Olivier. :-)
I think my children are going to turn out OK. I just hope we can give them a country to live in.
