Name A Movie That Should Have Had A Sequel... But Didn't.

I always thought "Thelma & Louise" should have had a sequel... and a "Moonstruck" sequel might have done well too.

2. One of my favorite movies is "The Big Country" with

Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Burl Ives, Charles Bickford, Charleton Heston, Carroll Baker, Chuck Connors, and Alfonso Bedoya. The cast was great and Peck's part is an inspiration to me. Anyway, there was plenty of material for a sequel or a prequel, for that matter. Great cast.

then after the movie, he went down to the screen and spoke a little bit then took questions from the audience. Someone asked him if they were planning a sequel, and he said that he thinks some things that are done well should be left just like they are. So apparently it will never happen. Or at least if it does, he won't sign up for it.

--that did continue the story. Forget the writer, but it's called "As Time Goes By"...and believe it or not, it's excellent. We learn a lot about Rick, about Ilse, about Laslo--like why he showed up in Casablanca looking like he had just come back from safari, instead of the Malthausen concentration camp...and it revolves around the Czech underground plot against Heydrich. If you like the movie, this is very much worth looking up--and it'd make a great film...

The DVD included an episode from a series attempt. It just wasn't the same. Better to leave it with Bogie and Claude Rains walking away together.

I read the book sequel and wasn't impressed. But that's just my opinion.

but I think a sequel would ruin it. The movie is about hope, and nothing is going to keep up with his vision of what may happen.

I think Shawshank losing the Oscar to Forrest Gump (hated it!) is the biggest travesty of the Academy Awards ever.

In order to capture the ideal and the horrible reality it created. A sequel consisting of documentary footage of Nazi death camps, atrocities committed against various eastern European ethnic groups, war dead, bombing raid victims, etc., all set to Wagner.

Of course, this would require that Leni Riefenstahl saw the err of her ways. Which she never did.

I know it sounds impossible. But LOTR also seemed "impossible"...and imagine the scenes. The Music of the Ainur...the creation of the world...the Two Trees, the great lamps...Morgoth stealing the Jewels...Thangorodrim...Berien and Luthiel...the War of Wrath...if done right, this could be a very great film...and if done wrong, unbearably bad...
