I accidentally stepped on them when I was leaving earlier and I didn't stop to look at them, but now I see they're crunched. Doh!

1. headphones are fairly cheap aren't they?

I have about three of them since I bought a few cheapo walkmans. I need to get an MP3 player for my birthday or something. Probably they use different headphones.
