What's Heroin like?
In my life I may or may have not tried lots of drugs ;)

I may or may have not tried coke, hash, acid, shrooms, pot and meth.

However, one drug I FOR SURE have never tried was heroin. I've heard lots of good things about the effects, lots of bad things about the addiction.

Being the curious type, but at the same time the smart type - I have no plans to actually try this.

But since I never will...what's it like?

3. Well it's a great site
if you are able to check it out on a different computer. It doesn't gloss over the bad stuff. It's got facts, laws, effects, etc etc, plus the experience vault which has... first, general, good, bad, and near death experiences. And you can check out like, any drug on the site. It's a great resource if you just want to learn, or if you are thinking about trying them.

7. This is a terrific resource
On homemade absinthe:

"It was the bitterest thing I have EVER tasted. I mean it took a physical effort to choke down even the smallest amount, it was that foul. I could have drunk autopsy runoff with less effort. Hell, for an alcoholic, would be to be trapped for eternity with a million bottles of direct-extract absinthe... full of alcohol but tasting like the bitterest beer times one thousand... undrinkable."

9. you heard right
CCKMP (Steve Earle)

Cocaine cannot kill my pain
Like a freight train through my vein
Cocaine cannot kill my pain

Whiskey got no hold on me
Left them chains in tennessee
Whiskey got no hold on me

Don't come knockin' on my door
Even that won't work no more
Don't come knockin' on my door

Heroin is the only thing
The only gift the darkness brings
Heroin is the only thing

Guess you'd best leave me alone
At least until these blues have gone
Guess you'd best leave me alone

10. Snorted it ca couple times
When I was much younger. The British Pharmecutical (sp?) was great. Sort of like an alcohol buzz. I was at peace with the world. The Brown Chinese almost made me puke. But then I got the nods and everything was very dreamlike.

11. Heroin provides a feeling of mellow tranquility
A feeling that all is right with the world. It's a lovely, hazy, happy feeling.

To do too much is uncomfortable. It makes you feel sick to your stomach. You nod and drool. You just want to zone out.

You can become addicted quickly. It's a physical as well as a mental addiction. One day you notice that if you don't do any, your lower back aches a little. Your eyeballs feel kinda funny. You feel nauseous. As time goes on, your muscles ache, they tremble, you're very sick, all your bones hurt. You want to lie down but you can't sleep. Your ears ring. Your legs twitch. You're cold, then hot. You throw up. You feel worse.

You reach the point where you're not doing it to get high - you do it to stay straight and avoid feeling sick. You're obsessed with getting your next fix. It's all you think about. If you're a banger (using a needle), you get sores and needle tracks. You lose your appetite and get very thin. You'd selll your mother for a hit. You're perpetually constipated. You feel like crap but you don't dare quit.

Kicking heroin is like dying, only worse and for a longer time.

I heard all this from a friend, by the way. ;)
