Anyone else almost never get angry?
The most I can get these days is mild frustration. The "angriest" I've been in the past few months was yesterday when I changed the toilet paper roll and the two plys (plies?) separated. They will never be joined together again. The time before that I was tossing pasta with some sauce and one of the noodles fell into the tiny crack between the counter and the stove with a bunch of sauce. To be fair that had Turmeric in it, so part of my kitchen that nobody sees is going to be forever yellowish.

Most things that other people get hugely upset about don't bother me. Driving and relationship issues being two of those things.

3. I didn't used to get angry
Anger scared me when I was young because my mother was angry all the time and liked to throw and break things.
Now I get angry sometimes. I expect that I am still inhibited about anger. I don't get drunk anymore because it turns out I am a very angry person.

Happiness suits me! Big surprise......NOT!

I can (and do) get annoyed......but it doesn't really stick very long...

The only thing that really pisses me off is the goddam dipwad admin. we are currently saddled with...:grr:

Life is too short to walk around being angry, IMHO.....

10. I have little patience with those who anger easily.
My usual reaction is, "If that's all you've got to be upset about, then you're a pampered brat who has no idea what life is like for most Americans." I have this reaction most Republican "faux" outrage.

30. It ain't necessarily so
Edited on Sun Mar-26-06 04:02 PM by jpgray
I've known some people who went through horrible times and emerged just as capricious and emotionally unstable as ever. But yeah, in general if you've ever been denied the essential superfluities of life for extended periods, it helps you not yell like an idiot when someone cuts you off in traffic and costs you maybe thirty seconds of time.

14. Not even the little things bother me. Never angry,
and for the longest time as wasn't anything. I've been so suprised at being happy the past few weeks.... I had almost forgotten what is was to be happy, sad, excited, apathetic, worried, joyous..... now that I have reason to feel happy, I'm postively jumping in ecitement... the reason I don't get annoyed at the small stuff is it's such a novelty, it makes up for itself, thus removing itself instantly, and remaining a novelty... joy is me.

20. I rarely get angry.
I've always been pretty even tempered. I seem to get most angry when I see someone else get hurt or taken advantage of. I know I can take care of myself, so I don't get angry when someone does something bad to me. I just stop associating with them. I'm big on "fool me once, shame on you---fool me twice, shame on me." Also, Maya Angelou's quote, "If someone shows you who they are, believe them", has helped me avoid a lot of trouble and grief in my life. As a Buddhist, I learned to associate with like minded people. And, anger seems to hurt the one feeling it more than it does the one the anger is directed at.

24. With the current political climate,
the fundies doing what they do, the Iraq war and everything else going on, the only way I could avoid being angry on a fairly regular basis would be a steady supply of Xanax or some other benzodiazepine.

25. Right idea, wrong med class
Maybe. Different folks have different chemistries. Your mileage may vary.

I used to be infamous for my anger, but since I've been on Lexapro, stuff that would once have had me smacking my mouse on the desk now just makes me mutter under my breath.

Anger can be a symptom of depression. I didn't know that until recently.

27. Possibly
Of course, antidepressants never did a thing for me. I had to go on mood stabilizers for any appreciable effect on my moods. I'm about to go back to the doctor for a new medication for my migraines which just happens to be an anticonvulsant also used for mood stabilization. Who knows? It might just help out with the moods as well.

And it is indeed "like a box of chocolates". I've been working for over 20 years trying to find the right cocktail of treatments and haven't found just the right one yet.
