 ;)
Is that a horrible thing to say?
Kayaking season is nigh upon us, and a local outdoor store did an on-the-water-demo day today. Paddlers came from all over the State to hang out on my local stream. There must've been thirty or more people, it was a very, very cool atmosphere, and just because the temps were in the mid thirties the party like atmosphere was red hot!
I body surfed a wave three times, spun, blasted and carved until my arms, shoulder blades, ribs, thighs and hands were sore and tired! I was on the river for five hours today. A lot of folks might think we were all out of rabbit-assed minds--but the sheer joy of being in the boat, on the river with dozens of like minded friends (many of who I just met for the first time) was, as pretentious as this sounds spirirually fulfilling.
There was a college club from Duluth down, many of whom had never paddled on a river of any kind, with a little coaching we even got them all to surfin' a little bit.
I am gonna sleep like a dog tonight (tongue hanging out, utterly collapsed, completely happy).
Anybody who actually read this, thanks for listening, I haven't been this happy for months, and I just had to share! :hi:
Yes DU, I am worn out, and at this moment, content.
