'Monty Python's Flying Circus' is returning to PBS
Beginning in Spring 2006, PBS stations will be able to introduce a whole new generation to the series when all 47 episodes will be available for broadcast.

I post this for the benefit of those who do not own the DVD set and have therefore been denied the unique pleasure that is MPFC, which can be described only as "better than sex, unless it's really good sex, in which case it would probably be preferable to MPFC, especially if you have TiVo, or until they invent TiVo for sex, and what it is too."

Lemon curry?

1. Question: When do I get to see it?
Edited on Sun Mar-26-06 05:31 AM by Random_Australian
Question 2: Did you think you could out-clever us Australian folk with your silly knees-bent running about advancing behavior?!

3. I know better
than to try to out-clever an Australian. :scared:

But I'll say "bloody" as much as I bloody want.

She's a good sheila, Bruce, and not at all stuck up.

2. Oh dear,
I suppose I'll have to try and see a few episodes just to find out what all of the fuss is about.

4. Don't expect to find out right off the bat
Few people "get" Python straight away by watching the series because it's not "about" anything (predating "Seinfeld" at that by about 20 years) and most of the time it has no beginning, middle or end.

And if you try to get it, you won't.

11. Explain 'make sense'... do you mean that they have defined
punchlines, or that theyhave, for instance, the same characters appearing multiple times... or other?

I was thinking more about the shows where the same actors, as all sorts of different people, depict a variety of nonsensical situations.... (Or extremely witty situations).

12. They're linear
They have beginnings, middles and ends. Even the sketches in shows like Saturday Night Live, which has few recurring characters, are constructed this way.

Americans like linearity, I guess.

9. Nah
I've had the DVD set for years.

I am jazzed, though, because this'll bring Python to all those previously deprived.

Bless them. O8)
